Finn Fishing

Great Saturday...

More Palin Crap...

"Palin’s comments rocked the contest. Within a day, the pro-mining coalition fighting the referendum had placed full-page ads with a picture of the governor and the word “NO.” The initiative went down to defeat, with 57 percent of voters rejecting it…"

“She says, ‘I’m going to take off my governor’s hat,’ but the only reason the press was there was that they were called to a press conference by the governor… Being governor is not a costume — you either are the governor or not.” - former Alaska governor Tony Knowles

Quote of the Week...

"The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope."

Quote of the Week

Alas...

Fitting for my last few weeks...

"They say you forget your troubles on a trout stream, but that's not quite it. What happens is that you begin to see where your troubles fit into the grand scheme of things, and suddenly they're just not such a big deal anymore."

-John Gierach

Not Looking Forward To This Election...

More on the Palin Family mucking up the last frontier (via. Mine Watch)

"On two separate occasions last fall, the husband of the Republican vice presidential candidate boarded planes chartered by mining companies that want to dig for gold, zinc and lead in remote Alaska valleys.

The trips cost $1,005, according to Gov. Sarah Palin's financial disclosure forms, which described them as gifts. The travel showcased the niche Palin has filled in his wife's administration, helping find jobs for Alaskans who, like him, didn't graduate from college..."

Let the games begin...

OK - TMT has had a quiet couple of weeks...

Things got a bit hectic with work and a building move…but I can assure you that steelhead fishermen from the area have begun what we dream about for nearly the entire year…the first run of fall chrome into our Northern Ohio rivers…

With the season upon us, I’ll be in the water more, and making more entries filled with stories, friends, and most importantly fish…

Here’s to the season…

Please submit any contributions you may have (pictures, movies, fish tales, etc…). We’re always glad to share others findings…

Game on boys and girls…

Summer's coming to an end...

Hit the water the T-Conklin tonight...Canoe paddled like a champ and my fishing mate managed some nice fish on a black bugger....

Not so hot for me, but the feel of a canoe made the shitty week disappear…

While we anticipate the run of steelhead…we morn the loss of big line sided pigs chasing obnoxious deer hair bugs…

Probably the last voyage with the big yellow canoe…though a great first year with her…

Revenge...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26604743

"'They do not fly, but they are quite good jumpers,' said Carole Engle, director of aquaculture and the fisheries center at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. 'Over the past year, we have had some calls about fish jumping and causing injuries on Lake Chicot.'"
