Weekly Update...

Well, sorry again for the delay…it’s been another bit of a whirlwind week, though with LOTS of fishing, and a few business notes…
To start out, the first leg of fishing in Southern Maine has finally started to close. The Salmon are backing off a bit, though that means that it’s now time to focus in one some brook trout in the coming weeks!

The last week has been primarily spent on chasing some silver sharks (Landlocked Salmon). With some recon, we’ve been able to track a few down on their spring migration into the rivers to feed. We managed a float down a local river with mixed results. Definitely a learning experience. Though the spring wasn’t epic by any stretch, it was fun, and has brought a season of firsts…

This last week I managed to hook my first Maine Brook Trout of the season, a nice plump 18” of beauty…as well as a rather large pickerel…hoping that the two balance themselves out with the fly fishing gods.

On a few business notes, Boz has his new floating ride almost complete. Be sure to check out his blog in the coming days for some notes and pictures on the beauty…and trust me, she is! Make sure to check out his site also. I do know he’s got a few extra trips up his sleeves for the season, and if you’re lucky enough…

As for this meandering boy, I finally got the nod to join an office team in the area for some working time. Not that it’s a bad thing…it’ll fund some fishing trips in the coming months…but some of the mid week adventures may come to an end. It was inevitable…but who knows…perhaps it’ll end as soon as it began.

In the mean time, we’ll leave you with some pictures from the last week. I can say that Boz has gotten some amazing footage over the last week, and will probably be incorporated into a video of the season in the coming months. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on that project…

Rumors of salty fish have us on edge for the coming weeks…(evil grin)...

Weekly Update

Well, it’s been kind of a quiet week here in ME…not much going on in the way of fishing. I did manage to climb into the waders for a few days, but struck out each time. Spring is finally here though, and after a great weekend (temps into the high 60’s), we’re looking forward to some awesome fishing, as well as some insect activity soon!

In the meantime, we’ll leave you with an update of another kind…Boz’s new drifty…

He managed to pick up the rig late last week, and we began the task of putting the final touches on all day yesterday, and again today. He’s hoping to have her into some water a week from now, but that may depend on some drying times, and the temperature/humidity…

I’ll try to snap a few pics from his project for those boat builders out there…
