Happy Anniversary!!!

Well the 28th marked one year of marriage for Amy & I. So what do you do in a slumping economy with little money and a need to get out of the house....CAMP & FISH!!!

So off to good old PA for some camping/fishing/loving...

We ended up getting off on a late foot Friday, so there was no water seen... Saturday was a lot of exploring with a little bit of fishing. It ended up being the banner day for the weekend. Sunday wasn't as productive, however it was our anniversary, and I was so amazingly grateful for being blessed with a wife who let me trout fish on our 1st wedding anniversary. Talk about a great gift...

So the weekend was overall a ton of fun, and we were able to explore a new part of PA with a good trout population...

Pictures tell the tale...

And now for the fishy players...

Nice 'Bow taken on a Cahill...

BWO Brown...

Cahill Brown...

Biggest fish of the weekend...about 16" brown that took a Cahill...

Overall an amazing weekend. Between my wife in town, Finn, and fish, I couldn't have asked for more...
We'd like to thank DAN for suggesting a stop into OIL CREEK OUTFITTERS. Mike was a tremendous help in fly selections and helping to locate hatches...THANK YOU!
For now, we'll move back to Bass while we wait for some Maine adventures!

While We Wait...

While we wait for the next time we're on the water...we love watching people on the water...

first found on midcurrent, we present Fly Max Films HD Theather...

HD Video's from around the country...and the list is growing. Makes some of us think about moving...

Mining Has Bad Consequences?!

"The dumping of the mine waste is expected to kill most of the fish and aquatic life in Lower Slate Lake, but the mine company is expected to rehabilitate the fish stocks when the mine closes."

Summer Vacation...

Kinda...Tough on Trout though...

TMA's Only...

Fished an Amazing stretch last Friday...tough fishing after a week of rains...but some gorgeous scenery...

Fishing holding pockets to no avail...

Saturday was fishing smaller water...

Looking...

And found...Dace...eatting dries?! Tons of them...

Trying another stretch with deeper water...still nada...

Amy's Find of the weekend...and you can bet she scared away any spotted players with her scream...

Down River Sunday Morning...

Straight swinging...still in high water...

A first for us...a small...SMALL Golden Drake Hatch...
Overall a nice weekend for family visits...but not for trout. High, muddy waters made fishing nearly impossible. Being as the visits were during prime fishing times (evening into dark), it wasn't surprising...
Almost a week until Oil Creek, PA. Hoping for some dry fly action with a few bugs in the mix. Should be a great location for a first anniversary!!!
Bassing till then...tight lines!

Part of my Summer Vacation...

Not really, but I've been absent for a few weeks...pictures in recap...

Conklin coaching Ava into her first fly cast...Awesome to witness...

Free Range Beef trial...Jimmy's idea...Decent!

Fried Talapia - Old Bay Style...

Jimmy landing Bass!!!

Step-sister Graduation...

Kayak Bassing...

Piggy...

Gorgeous Rock Bass...

Yum...

Duck's in parents front yard...good mile from water...
Slow boiled sausage...amazing...
Jimmy's Fetish...
By far one of the funniest scenes of the year thus far...Jimmy climbing a lake side tree (no more then 30 feet from the house on the property), in an effort to try and save a bass fly. Hilarious scene watching your borther stuck in a tree on some foreign land...he was a good 20' off the ground in the picture. Fly is still in the tree and Jimmy has all limbs in one piece...
Great few weeks...though we've been a bit busy. Hopefully things calm down...in the meantime, we'll fish, tie, and eat like kings...

"Perfect" lesson...

from msnbc...

"ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland - Maine fisherman and author Linda Greenlaw, who survived the nor'easter that was the basis for the book and movie "The Perfect Storm," has been convicted on charges of illegally fishing in Canadian waters."
